Overview
Careers Atlantic Canada is a user-friendly site for educators, learners, and families intended to support youth in understanding the relationship between Skills for Success and a successful entry into the labour market.
The lesson plans and resources provided help facilitate student learning about the Canadian Government Skills for Success Framework and Labour Market Information (LMI) and their importance in career life planning. Nine key skills are defined and described in the framework, and there is a learner checklist and assessment included for learner self-reflection.
The lesson plans have been designed to align with curriculum outcomes for career connected learning in New Brunswick and can be delivered across multiple curricula.

Objectives

Instructions
The lesson plans support several aspects of career-connected learning and would assist educators who are newer to embedding career into their subject area. It may be helpful to begin by viewing the Secondary Education video that describes the Skills for Success.
The lesson plans are not sequential, and educators can choose the lessons / resources that best apply to their subject and desired learning outcomes. Educators can find an expanded rationale for each topic accompanied by the lesson plan to download. A good introduction may be to have the learners do the Skills for Success self-assessment checklist.
The lessons include an inquiry-based question related to the concept and supports the use of the myBlueprint program to accompany the activity.
