Overview
The Environmental Employability Pathways (EEP) program is part of the government of Canada’s Youth Employment and Skills Strategy (YESS) Program aims to help youth who have faced barriers navigate through the labour market and develop skills to transition into sustained employment successfully. The Environmental Employability Pathway Program is an employment readiness program that aims to help all youth (age 15 to 30) navigate the labour market and successfully transition into sustained employment.
Objectives
Youth gain work experience in the Canadian environmental sector and develop business, communication, teamwork, problem-solving, leadership skills and organizational skills.
Employers benefit from a more diverse team and new ideas from Canada’s talented youth, while saving on hiring and training costs.
Provide eligibility for sectors including, but not limited to; resource sectors, environmental assessment companies, post-secondary institutions, Indigenous scientific, environmental and technology associations, those in energy, construction, and transport.

Key Highlights
- Youth will strengthen key job skills and gain work experience.
- Will provide 50% of wages up to $12,000 to eligible employers who hire youth facing barriers to employment including a potential of $2,000 for participant supports.
