Overview
This experiential learning activity connects learners and educators with experts in a variety of fields. The guest speakers at Guides Connected are excited to share their personal stories and the various pathways they took to find meaningful careers. This supports learners to hear from a real person on their unique career journey and to visualize various careers and post-secondary pathway options for their preferred future.
All experts are carefully chosen for their enthusiasm and ability to connect with many different audiences, from educators in professional learning sessions to K-12 classrooms.
Educators can choose from a list of carefully vetted experts for customized and interactive presentations to any sized group of learners and educators. Services offered include classroom enrichment, personalized student connecting with presenters, and professional learning for educators.
Objectives
Objective 1: To introduce learners to real people in real careers and hear their stories of pathway options, successes, and challenges.
Objective 2: To open the learner’s mind to new career pathways and opportunities they may not have known or considered.
Objective 3: To support educators to bring cost effective career connected experiential opportunities to the learners regardless of location in the province.
