Indspire: Rivers to Success: Indigenous Student Mentorship

Overview

This resource supports First Nations, Inuit, or Métis learners and educators supporting their journey of hopeful transition pathway planning.

The  Rivers to Success (R2S) Program (Mentorship program), provides 3 unique streams, (High School, Post-Secondary, and Career Transition) and customized cultural resources, to provide a strong support system to ensure the sustained success of Indigenous learners as they graduate and go on to become the leaders of tomorrow.

The High School stream provides support for Indigenous learners in grades 10-12 to support their academic journey.  Students can access dynamic online resources  ranging from study tips to health and wellness advice to cultural videos.  Group mentorship is also available through the online R2S portal.

There is also an Online Resource Centre for educators as well as access to several research reports Indspire Reports (Knowledge Nest Reports) that provide invaluable career life planning information.

In R2S, students have access to Elders, Indigenous mentors, Indigenous Laureates, and Indigenous Building Brighter Futures alumni. These connections enable students to prioritize their own development, seek out exciting opportunities, and ultimately achieve success in their chosen fields – all while maintaining essential connections to their cultures and communities.
