Overview

Job Bank is a Government of Canada national employment service (available as a website and mobile app) supporting career planning, recruiting, and hiring across all provinces and territories.  It is a comprehensive source of jobs and labour market information and is organized as follows:

Objectives

  • To provide labour market information specific to each province and territory in Canada.
  • To connect learners with up-to-date job search information.
  • To connect youth with support to find summer employment.
  • To provide supplementary information and self-reflective activities to myBlueprint resources.

Instructions

There are multiple ways educators can use this comprehensive website. The “Choose a Career” and “Explore the market” sections would be useful introductions to labour market information and support learners to explore many career options in Canada.

The “Choose a career” tab is organized into 5 main sections as follows:

  • Plan your education or training.
  • Stand out to employers.

This section includes personal interest quizzes, a checklist matching skills and knowledge, skills for success, job profiles, job search and networking advice and more.
