This website tool provides project-based learning opportunities for students to solve real world New Brunswick labour market challenges. It allows learners to see themselves outside of the classroom to understand their role in the labour market and use information that directly affects their communities, and careers.

This collaborative project has been developed by the Government of New Brunswick’s Departments of Education and Early Childhood Development (EECD), the Department of Post-Secondary Education, Training, and Labour (PETL), and the Canadian Career Development Foundation (CCDF).

Objectives
- To provide learners with collaborative opportunities to solve real world labour market challenges faced in New Brunswick.
- To engage learners to think creatively.
- To learn about and understand the important of labour market information and how it relates to career.
- To create opportunities for learners to action the New Brunswick Global Competencies.
Instructions
Real World Challenges can be used with small groups of students or entire classes. The challenges are designed to integrate project-based learning into a variety of curricular outcomes. The site is designed to have educators sign up their classes and commit to completing the challenges. The site has a resource person and funding to support.
Three professional learning career connected modules are provided to support with Labour Market Information and Experiential Learning. There is a choice of challenges to choose and lesson plans and resources to align with each selected challenge.
Learners wrap up the process by presenting their solutions and completing a final survey.
