Overview
Rethink Ability is on-line disability training created in New Brunswick to positively change how people think about disability. There are modules for most disability types and cross disability modules like Assistive Technology and Introduction to Disability.
Training is developed in partnership with community-based disability organizations for individuals and organizations that want to improve communication, environments, systems, and services to better meet the needs of persons with a disability.
Objectives
- Improve communication with clients, customers, patients, and/or students.
- Enable effective person-centered care and planning for persons with a disability.
- Help organizations successfully recruit, hire, and retain persons with a disability.
- Improve access to programs, services, and spaces.
- Raise customer service levels.
- Show decision-makers how to apply a disability lens to policy, programs, and services.
- Create greater opportunities for persons with a disability.
- Provide the tools and information to be a better advocate or champion.
