Overview
Skills Canada is a national non-profit organization devoted to the promotion of careers in skilled trades and technology to youth. To meet current industry and educational needs across the province, Skills Canada New Brunswick was established in 1998 to develop much-needed programming working to engage youth in activities that encourage the exploration of opportunities in skilled trades and technology.
SCNB coordinates events that engage students of all ages from elementary through to post-secondary.
Objectives
- To support a coordinated Canadian approach to promoting skilled trades and technologies to youth.
- To provide experiential learning opportunities for youth including a provincial competition showcasing skilled trades.
- To provide various programming opportunities such as school visits, Skills for Success activities, Try -A-Trade events, and competitions.
