Overview
The Youth Engagement Services (YES) program meets the basic needs of youth who cannot live in their parent’s or caregiver’s home. It provides skills and support to help transition to adulthood and independence. The program covers three pillars: education, employment, and permanence. Clients work with a Youth Engagement Services social worker who acts as their champion and advocate, engaging the youth as an active participant in the planning and direction of their lives.
Objectives
The program focuses on helping the young person develop a sense of responsibility and learn diverse skills.
Youth Engagement Services takes a holistic approach, providing individualized support tailored to the unique needs of each client, including:
- Special benefits to support education, training and employment;
- Workshops and training on goal setting, life skills, job searching, resume writing and interview skills;
- Programs and services to ensure a successful school-to-work transition, etc.
