The Gaia Project: Green Experts Program

Overview

The Gaia Project is a New Brunswick based non-profit dedicated to empowering youth to act for climate change. Focusing on the NB Global Competencies, they incorporate inquiry-based education, curriculum links, and local action in each of their projects through:

  • Strategic Partnerships: Working with a range of partners dedicated to creating rich, real-world learning opportunities for students and teachers
  • Teachers Supports: Helping teachers through professional learning activities, resources and in classroom support to bring climate change into their pedagogy.
  • Enhancing Student Learning: Providing students hands-on experiences to explore issues around energy, waste, water, transportation and general sustainability.
  • Thinking Globally, Acting Locally: Providing learners the resources they need to take local action on the global issue of climate change.

The Green Experts Program helps high school students learn more about green careers and future prospects in green job markets available in New Brunswick. Through networking and mentorship opportunities with qualified volunteers, youth can explore how they can take climate action to the next level: as professionals!

Visit the Green Career Exploration Resources section of the Green Experts page. You will find learning packages to learn more about green jobs, recordings of our Green Career Panels and the My Green Job video series.

For youth looking to start building their careers, the Green Experts Program offers personalized and comprehensive career guidance that will empower them to make a positive impact on climate change through their work. Students have the chance to connect with a professional through class presentations (in person or virtually), climate action project consultation, and mentorship opportunities.
