Overview
Transition is all about change, and leaving high school is one of those big life transitions. If you’re living with a mobility disability, moving on to other education, training, or employment can come with its own challenges. Transition NB along with its many resources and tools aim to mitigate these obstacles, providing equitable career transition planning to all learners.
Objectives
- Assist students with mobility challenges build a planning team so they are supported to create a path to reach their personal goals.
- Review accessibility requirements for university, college, other training, and employment, and complete accessibility reviews to find solutions with these organizations that work.
- Find accessible and affordable housing and transportation. This may include help with applications for housing and housing modifications, and getting drives for school, jobs, and social events.
- Offer opportunities to get involved and have fun! Discover social, cultural, sports, groups, associations, societies, and other events and activities in the community.
