Career Life Plan Resources – Junior Achievement New Brunswick

Overview:

Beginning June 2026, Students are required to complete a Career Life Plan as a graduation pre-requisite. The Career Life Plan consists of 11 requirements every student must complete to qualify for the minimum standards for graduation. Junior Achievement New Brunswick’s current programs meet 9 of these 11 requirements. Outlined below is a list of Junior Achievement programs, and the CLP requirement they cover. All JA Programs are free of charge to students and teachers!

Objectives:

Economics for Success – Grades 9-10

Available as a Physical Kit and on JA’s Digital Campus

Inspiring students in grades 8-10 to stay in school, students take a closer look at the advantages of continued education, as well as learn what’s needed to succeed in today’s workforce. Exploring payroll deductions and taxes help students understand how their work helps pay for public infrastructure and services.

CLP Requirements Met:

  • Resume writing skills
  • Cover letter writing skills
  • Goal setting for life beyond high school
  • Financial planning for post-high school life
  • Interview Preparation
  • Identifying two or more career life pathways of interest

Personal Finance – Grades 9-12

Available as a Physical Kit or on JA’s Digital Campus

Personal Finance is a program designed for grade 9-12 students. The program teaches students personal money management skills including the key elements of personal finance such as spending wisely, budgeting, saving, investing and using credit.

CLP Requirement Met:

  • Financial planning for post-high school life

Post-Secondary Mini Modules – Grades 9-12

Dive into the exciting world of post-secondary with this digital learning series! Explore the various post-secondary pathways, learn about important financial considerations and discover how to budget effectively for your post-secondary journey.

  • Exploring post-secondary pathways aligned with a career life plan

Financial Futures Mini Modules – Grade 9

Available on JA’s Digital Campus

These short interactive educational modules are focused on various money concepts and can be completed in any order and any quantity. Likewise, these can be completed independently or used in the classroom as group learning.

CLP Requirements Met:

  • Goal setting for career preparation
  • Developing an action plan for a chosen career pathway
